Your Core Karmic Theme
Aug 28, 2024Last week, I hosted a Livestream on “You can’t read your own label.” I shared a story about the goose that laid golden eggs. The replay is here if you’d like to see it.
I was encouraging my community to realize that there is a golden goose in all of us, which is in our natural gifts and talents. The challenge is that so many of us do not see the GOLD in our talents and, thus, do not value them. To solve this, I have another approach I’d love to share with you today.
Your Karmic Theme
I asked my client the other day, “What was the theme running through your life so far? What was the key lesson you’ve been learning? A recurring life challenge that you kept facing? And what did it teach you? Who did it help you to become?”
This is what a Karmic Theme is about:
It is a repeating life lesson that shows up in different disguises.
For me, my life theme has been.
TRANSFORMATION
Transformation through TRANSCENDENCE.
When I studied ICHING, I learned that it is a book on TRANSFORMATION. It is often translated as a Book of Change, and it is not a very accurate translation. Change usually happens externally, like a change in weather, a change in government, or a change in education. Transformation is an INNER self-directed process out of deep pain or a compelling vision for a new life. Or both.
To experience true transformation that is both lasting and sustainable, we get to HUNGER for it. We get to DESIRE for it so much that we are wiling to change our thoughts, habits, and ways of being to re-create ourselves to a better version.
Take body transformation, for example.
Until I transformed my body for the first time 16 years ago, I had no idea what my mind was capable of. I did not inherit “skinny genetics” from my mom. My biological family was not aware of healthy lifestyles and fitness. My mom is overweight and constantly sick. She is not receptive to any input of changing her diet or learning about health. She is not transforming because the intensive desire to transform is not there.
My mom was forced to transform when she manifested a heart attack. She was a chain smoker all of her life, a half-pack-a-day kind of smoker. Eventually, all the negative impact of smoking resulted in her heart giving up, and she went through the terrifying experience of almost dying.
This is an example of transformation through intense PAIN.
When she woke up after the surgery, she asked her doctor:
“Doctor, can I still smoke?”
Russian doctor, in a typical No-BS-style, replied: “Sure can, you will be alive for less than an hour. Do you want me to bring you a cigarette?”
Of course, she didn’t, and her lifetime addiction was dropped out of fear of death.
Another way to transform is by connecting to a compelling VISION.
As I share in this video that I recorded in Peru when I was there first time, when you make your VISION bigger than your current circumstances, you can lift yourself above them.
When I was growing up in Communist Russia, in its greyness, absence of beauty, harmony, and collective depression, I used the power of my imagination to lift my mind above my circumstances. I spent my time “daydreaming” about what would be possible for me, knowing well that no one was coming to rescue me, and if I wanted a better life, I had to find a way to create it.
Transformation through VISIONING has become one of my core themes.
When our vision is clear and rooted in the heart, we do not need motivational crutches. We are connected to a living flame of inspiration from our soul.
Next came the theme of EMPOWERMENT. To become truly empowered, I had to take full responsibility for every area of my life where I felt disempowered.
I had to make a journey from seeing myself as a VICTIM, to empowering myself to see myself as a LEADER.
I spent two years of my life escaping reality in the grip of addiction and transcending that took direct interference from my Higher Self. That night, when I overdosed so much that I couldn't tell what plane of reality I was in, a clear voice of Soul Authority spoke to me. I heard: “Enough, child, you had your fun. It is time; your Life’s Mission is waiting for you.”
It was like Archangel Michael laid the sword of truth on my lower self, cutting the tentacles of addiction once and for all. I dumped all two pounds of white powder down the toilet with shaking hands. I went cold turkey after daily addiction for over two years.
Transformation through Transcendence has become my life theme.
The lower self does not transform willingly and is very clever in seducing us with its promises of instant relief. I have learned to be vigilant with anything that I cannot put down quickly because once I have been in the grips of daily addiction, it is not the road I will travel again.
Next was the transformation of IDENTITY.
How can we transform if we are not willing to question every single story of ‘me’ that we have believed to be true?
The stories that I often hear from people, “I just don’t have discipline. I am not consistent. I am not good with this…I am not good with that…”.
Every single story of limitation exists between our ears.
We either question and transcend it by letting it go and choosing to develop ourselves, or we let that story define us, thus creating our own glass ceiling.
Now, here is how identifying your Core Karmic Theme can illuminate your key soul gifts (aka your inner Golden Goose).
When I realized that my entire life was all about Transformation, and when people began coming to me for support with their transformation, I started the relentless quest to master my craft:
Becoming the TRANSFORMER.
It wasn't just a ‘side hustle’ or a ‘hobby’ for me; oh, no, it was my DHARMA.
My true direction in life.
My Soul’s Calling.
And for my Dharma, I will do whatever it will ask of me.
Does my Dharma require me to not only develop my skill of Transformation but also,
Marketing
Sales
Speaking
Teaching
Focus
Leadership
Mindfulness
Team Building
And so on…
Then, I embrace it all with a willing and open heart.
Nothing is not a part of the Dharma. Everything matters. Everything is sacred.
When I embraced this attitude, my business soared because I had no resistance to develop any skill needed no matter how complex it seemed or how many times I had to start over to create the result I was inspired by.
Now, to you, my friend.
What has been your Core Karmic Theme?
And how is it connected to your Dharma?
How can you package your gifts and talents into tangible offers, such as service, products, or experience, so you can be fully SOVEREIGN?
So you could be excited about the future because, you know, what you do in the now creates your future.
Sovereign Now = Sovereign Future.
The good news is that we do not have to do this alone.
At every threshold of transformation, you can meet a Mentor.
I did.
I met my Fitness Mentor when I was transforming my body.
Business Mentor when I finally went all-in on my coaching business.
Leadership Mentor when I was unlocking my style of leadership.
Esoteric Mentor when I was diving into my esoteric studies.
It is not just my experience; it is archetypal.
See this graph by Joseph Campbell.
We are destined to meet a mentor on the threshold of our new life.
It is our free will whether we choose their guidance or not.
I will conclude with this:
Our WOUNDS hold the key to our MEDICINE.
Our core life theme can become our core life testimonial.
Our mess can become our message.
It is up to each of us to see it and to value it.
Once we decided to do so, we needed to step on the path of mastery to develop our craft.
To do something that no one else imagined.
To rise above the age that we are born, in the words of Yogananda.
To turn our life into ART.
Because we can.
Because it is our true potential.
With love,
Katerina.
