Boundaries In Leadership

Jan 04, 2023

There is no leadership without boundaries.

…boundaries are a reflection of both, self-love and self-respect.

“Daring to set boundaries is about having the courage to love ourselves, even when we risk disappointing others.” - Brene Brown

Your NO is just as sacred as your YES.

My top 3 simple suggestions for anyone currently learning to establish clear and firm boundaries:

  1. Practice saying No. “Let me feel into this.” “I can't take this on.” “My life is full.”
  2. Journal it out. Write about the feelings that come up whenever you say No. Track your emotions and see this as a great opportunity to inquire what hides underneath the compulsion to say “yes” to please others, impress them, or keep the harmony. Choose authenticity and write about it in your journal. Writhing is cleansing your mind - do it often and you’ll reap the incredible benefits of a clear + calm mind.
  3. Boundaries give you spaciousness. Oh how much I love my spaciousness, so much that every year my intention is to triple my spaciousness. Why? Because it gives me the space to BE. To be in stillness and manifest everything from within. Spacious gives me the fertile environment to birth my most genius work. Spaciousness fuels my soul and when my soul is nourished, I lead from my nourished wholeness.

My No is just as sacred as my Yes.

I am currently working on releasing an old habit to justify my “no” with extra “because” explanations. I am working on becoming brief while deepening my courtesy and kindness. At the end of the day, it’s not what we say but how we say it.

I share my boundaries with love in such a way that people feel safe in the clarity I give them. They don’t need to read my mind or guess where I stand. Clarity is kindness.

Rooted in self-love.
